My Americana

So today in July 4th. Independence Day for us red blooded Americans. A day to celebrate our nation and it's heroes. To some, however, it's a day to get plastered and light off fireworks- burning themselves, other's, and quite possibly acres upon acres of land since our state is tinderbox dry.

Some think painting their nails in the red white and blue is patriotic. And it is. A way to decorate one's self with the nations colors...
Personally- I like finding thos colors that do not run in other places- like nature...
Or in the women I photograph...
Or in clothing hanging on the laundry line in my yard...
But let's not forget our hero's today, who will no doubt be tending to those that have blown off fingers, gotten alcohol poisoning, created a massive wild fire, or attempted suicide by sunstroke.
Celebrat those aht have fought or are fighting in the name of our nation...
Perhaps think about those of us that live with a little piece of Americana burned into our memories that with live with each and every day...

Happy 4th, everyone! Be safe. Be responsible. And thank a Veteran, Fire Fighter, Police Officer, EMT/Paramedic for their services...
