Sports Expos are Fun!!!

Broken and bleeding the day my oopsie happened-

Hubby thinks one of two things happened. The way and velocity on which I fell straight down onto my knees either 1# hyper extended the main joint in my pelvis (imagine a book opening backwards) or 2# I spiderweb fractured my pelvis radiating out from the two main ball and socket joints. Either way, either injury- I need to slow down and take it easy. Another fall within a month or so will most likely end up in completely fractured pelvis/hip, surgery, and at least 6 weeks bed rest.

As I teased, Hubby and I worked at a Health/Fitness/Sports Expo on Saturday. The following are snippits I wrote down in my journal (in italics) with explanations.

“All you other chicks with you’re pumped up t**s better run, better run faster than my notebook…”- the re-written lyric to Foster People's "Pumped Up Kicks". In reference to all the people I was being snarky about.

In Pain

I am. I am in serious, undeniable, pain. I took a spill on some black ice yesterday morning in front of Mc Donald's while a crew was switching ambulances with the one I was driving. Before I knew what had happened, I was hard on my hands and knees on the asphalt, my hands breaking the part of the fall that would have most likely resulted in facial breakage and bleeding. I got up, dusted myself off and carried on. A few moments later, my knees throbbing, I looked down to see blood soaking through my jeans at the knees. Damn.

The crew noticed this and I found myself getting patched up by them- gauze pads, kling, and tape stunting the bleeding. After dening any need of getting transported to the hospital- I was already feeling ashamed of my clumsiness, I carried on with my day- knees throbbing and bleeding well into the afternoon. I had a coffee stop with the lovely Azkadellia near the college and went home a few hours later.

Into the latter half of the evening- the pain was getting wo…

Hubby and I had a great weekend, capped by going to take in a movie Sunday afternoon. He’s almost completely finished the 3 book series of “Girl with a Dragon Tattoo, Girl Who Played with Fire, and Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest” Well, we went to see the movie based on the first book. Per Hubby’s opinion- the movie followed the book better than imagined. I have yet to read any of the books (kinda working on my own, ya know?) Anyhoo- our screening of the flick was in the last theater in the double digit number hallway- that small, cramped theater that sits maybe a hundred- “ the last stop before DVD production” movie theater.

Side note… “The Expendables 2” preview played. As if the cast of the first wasn’t shit hot awesome??? They’ve frickin’ added Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwartzz-a-govner, Van Dam- he got a nice ass, and Bruce Willis!!!! EPIC! EPIC, EPIC, EPIC!!!!!

Hubby and I watch as the mini-theater around us starts to fill… 65% of the theater was filled. 60% of the people were over…

Purging...

Why does it feel so good? Why does cleaning and tossing out useless rubbish feel just so damn good? I spent more then a few hours yesterday archiving photo file folders on Cd's and DVDs- removing 14 GB worth of photos I wanted to keep but didn't need to be on my computer- I rarely looked at them and even less regularly used them for anything. Do random flower and thunderstorm photos from 2009 need to be on here? Nope, not really. I'm not in any short of hard drive space on this beast, my combined two hard drives are close to 600 GB, and I currently have 402 GB free as of now. Sure, now I need a couple new CD folders, but whatever... I also wasted time while Cd's and DVDs burned away yesterday cleansing the music folder on my 'puter, emptying email spam folders, and general email account clutter from my three emails. I deleted old FB messages, old SG account e-mails... I just cleaned my computer. I ran registry cleaners, updated C Cleaner and ran it, updated my anti…

Photo and Opinion Frenzy!!!

Internet censorship by high powered, can't mind their own f*ing business politicians and movie corporations, and music conglomerates- would suck. YES! The ability to disable and nuke any given website at any given moment because they pissed you off- also major bigtime SUCK! To throw a tempertantrum (like Wikiapedia) is pointless. Wiki is fake! Sure, SOME of the information on there might actually be fact, but for the other 95%- it's all fake bullshit some lonely dork locked in his mom's basement created!!!

It pissed me off to no end last night when my local evening news interviewed concerned high students about the 24 hour Wiki shut down. "It could effect my grades! How will I do research for my papers?!" sobbed one pathetic wanna be goth princess. GQ Acne Jock added "I would, like, um... Like totally have to read like... Um, all the books in this library and that's just um, like, too hard, ya know???" Why do actual research when you can google the s…

On Bronco Pond...

In high school- I really came into being with my writing. It was still a variation of escape for me, but thanks to the encouragement of one English teacher (whom I had a dreadfully huge crush on) - I honed my skills and fought hard to get published. Yes, I was a dork. And a suck up.

In his class, he gave us an assignment while we read about Hemingway and his classic novella "Old Man and the Sea". The purpose, I think, was to get us to expand our minds and descibe everything, much like Hemingway did in his writing. So today, I typed up my old paper- word for word, (yes this is actually how I wrote in high school). Just for added effect- I posted a picture of the grade I got on the following paper.

The morning sun is giving breath to the new day; a cool breeze carries with it the smell of fall and the sound of dry leaves blowing across the black pavement path behind me. Leaves crunching beneath the feet of people around me, getting settle…

Fairy Tale Snow...

Image
Weather Doggie-Pup says snow... Lots of snow...

Doesn't appear as if she's thrilled about it, does it?

One upon a time, in a land not so far far away- this was a land that was doomed to not have winter, some thought on their green Christmas morning and New Years. But then, one night- winter came. And it came with a bang! Eleven inches of heavenly down fell upon the muddy brown lands- turning everything into a fairy shade of white.

Collecting on the pine cones adorning trees like forgotten ornaments....

Collecting on grapevines in icy clusters of beauty that would most assurdly glitter in the sunlight- should the clouds part long enough...

And as the snowflakes fell- they looked ot be stars tumbling from heaven above...

The End :)

Here are the church pictures as promised. I apologize for the quick, random ending to last night's post... I was too distracted by answering e-mails to muster anything more to write to you all so I bailed. Many sorrys to everyone...

Today I have been catching up on the new round of e-mails from last night; talking to my mom on the phone (which I could have just talked to her at her house when I was there this morning, but she was already on the phone dealing with issues at her work); surfing the web; and working on the second "MEDICS" novel. In theory- I have a busy work week, but I am waiting on a text to confirm that minor detail. Tomorrow morning I have a follow up back cracking appointment. I've had a lot of muscle tenderness in my right shoulder since he put me back in last Tuesday. Hopefully I can get a full adjustment tomorrow and have everything be all dandy good. Still wish I knew what I was doing in my sleep to make my cervical vertebrae do the slip and sli…

Too Quiet...

Image
It's been all of almost an hour and already- the house is too quiet. Hubby went back to work tonight for a night half and tomorrow for a dayside shift (instead of getting to work on his badly behind office work. Oh well, guess big boss man will just have to deal with the lack of people to fill open shifts, eh? Don't get me started...). He's been home since Wednesday evening, being knocked out by a horrible cold and tonight is my first night alone without him since um... the 29th of December. Ugh... I hate having the "I Miss U's..." I love Hubby dearly, but honestly- I would have moments of getting frustrated with him being home. Personally- I'd like to blame it on my influx of hormones, bu those that are married know what I'm saying, right? You love your significant other so very much, but sometimes catch yourself saying in your head- "Please go back to work... For a little while?" Then they go to work, and you're stuck in an empty house…

Hello Nurse!!!

Nice Animanics reference, no? Anyhoo- I am exactly that today. And for a large portion of last night. Hubby- my personal Superman- has fallen victim to the wandering crud. He is, in fact, so ill, that my loving Hubby who never calls in sick for work, did just that. While today is my day alone usually- today I have a coughy, snotty, plugged up Hubby-kins to take care of.

I have been giving him rounds of vitamins and herbal supplements packed with all sorts of good stuffs, making him drink horrific tasting herbal teas made to clear respitory tracts, having him do bi hourly hits on his inhaler, have him sitting in front of the steam vaporizer inhaling eucalyptus steam, and the always helpful every four hours cold & flu meds. Tonight I will be making my mom's cure everything that ails you (and some things that aren't) homemade chicken soup with her famous homemade Amish noodles. Right now, while I am tucked into my office writing to all of you- he is curled up on the couch watc…

Blowing Smoke Up My What???

So- we officially had the first "Death Snow Blizzard" of 2012. Yeah- had, ladies and gentlemen. What I would like to knwo is exactly where did the 2 feet of snow fall? Cause it wasn't here. Sure we are having the flucuating "snow bands" on and off but gees- talk about a shit ton of hype and hysteria over frickin' nothing!!!

Add to that the hysteria people were forced into over this crap! Sure we did get the 50 mph winds on sunday- big deal! It got windy! WHOOPIE!!!! Seriously? I am so far not impressed by the local weather guessers that it borders on sickening! Pathetic! No actually it is P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C!!!

In other news- my weekend recap in a few words- MEH, OUCH, & RANGOONS??? Friday was just that, meh. It came, it went, it wasn't honestly spectacular. Saturday morning came early and painful when I woke up around 1am to reliaze that I could not move and I was in extreme pain. Hubby got out the maasge table then around 2am and proceeded to feel my ba…
